｢幡（ばん）｣は、寺院の重要な法要の時などに使われる｢旗｣で、仏や寺院を美しく飾り、称えるためのものです。
人々の平和を祈る意味があると言われています。
ここで掲揚される８つの幡は｢花鳥風月｣をテーマに、全国の障がいのある人たちから公募で集まった絵画作品をデザインして幡に仕立てたものです。
今回、東塔落慶法要を記念し、初めてビッグ幡を開催する薬師寺において、昨年度「ビッグ幡in東大寺」で掲載された幡が、装いも新たにはためきます。
ゆっくりと風に舞う優雅な幡の姿を、どうぞ間近でお楽しみください。
The 8 flags that are displayed were designed and made into banners based on the theme of ’Kacho Fugetsu’ (the beauty of nature) and were collected from people with disabilities from all over Japan.
“Ban” are flags that are used at temples for important memorial services, and to beautifully decorate and honor the Buddha and Buddhist temples. It is said that they represent a prayer for peace for all humanity.
This time, at Yakushi-ji Temple, where the Big Banner event will be held for the first time to commemorate the completion of the East Pagoda, the banner that was displayed in last year’s “Big Banner in Todaiji” will flutter again with a new look. Please enjoy the elegant appearance of the banners slowly dancing in the wind up close.
